Konsi Wagner - Workshopleitung

Discover the historical photografic process of the Cyanotype, or Blueprint. Konsi Wagner teaches you how to use sunlight to create
vibrant blue prints of leaves, flowers and personal objects.

The technique:

Known since 1842, the technique was used historically by naturalists and later in architecture. In
contrast to the greater part of photography,
cyanotopy does not require a camera. Instead, an object is placed on the
„photographic paper“, which we will make ourselves in the workshop, and exposed to the sun. Later the part of the
the part of the paper that was exposed the sunlight turns blue, but the object’s shadow remains white, the result is a so-called
photogram.

You are very welcome to bring your own objects that you think would cast an interesting shadow, such as a lace doily or a small but particularly fluffy cuddly toy. With a little care, these will not be damaged in the process. In addition, the LOCH offers all kinds of
possibilities for collecting leaves and plant parts.

Since the process is not complicated and does not require the use of any particularly
toxic chemicals, the workshop is open to both adults and children. However, due to the nature of the technique, we will net plenty of sunlight. In case of bad weather the workshop will take place on the 01.10.22 instead.
