Tania Reinecke - Workshopleitung

The way we perceive and represent the world visually changes the way we understand the world.
In a time when we are surrounded by photographic images, it is all the more important to understand how images are created and how we can transfer our personal imaginary images into photographically visible images. The medium of photography is an important tool for the visual reflection of ourselves and our environment. The workshop at the interface of photography, artist walk and artistic field research deals visually with the imaginary image of the neighbourhood around the LOCH cultural centre in Wuppertal. The starting point is the tense relationship between the man-made urban landscape and all its forms of expression. Using the medium of the walk, we will embark together on a journey to the different manifestations of the neighbourhood around the LOCH art and cultural centre. As part of the collaborative process, the neighbourhood will become a stage for unforeseen perceptual processes and the image of the city will emerge in the mind of the viewer. In the workshop, a wide variety of visual impressions will be collected. The aim is to use this material to create new random and experimental encounters. The results of the artistic process will be re-projected as a temporary installation in the cultural centre.

Tania Reinecke works both as an individual artist and in a collective. Her works at the interface of photography and media installation are a search for the essence of photographic images. How do they come into being, what do they reflect, how do they correspond with the existing space and how do they change our present perception? In the process of experimental image finding and image creation, she develops space-image concepts on an installative-performative level. Her works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions. She currently holds a teaching position at the Braunschweig University of Fine Arts.
