DeeJay Langnese

Let all your queer dreams come
through, drop by drop.
Sooooo…
Lets run up that hill & go crazy in the pop! You better work,
bandida! Hot stuff, shut up and… DANCE! Vroom vroom!!!

Ayawa

Velvet Curtains
At Velvet Curtains, alternative drag artists show what they’ve got: With stunts, tricks, emotions and a concentrated load of humour, the artists present entertainment outside the mainstream and give a stage to art that otherwise often doesn’t get a hearing. The artists will enchant you with shrill performances, wild costumes and lots of make-up. Have fun at Velvet Curtains!

DeeJay Langnese
Summer, sun, good mood - that’s the sound of DeeJay Langnese. Somewhere between house and pop, between old and new, between sand in the groove and sunscreen on the glasses, a little pinch of soul, a drop of garage, a good sip of disco and no shying away from kitsch.
Come along, be there, I’m looking forward to seeing you.
Your DeeJay Langnese

Ayawa
(she /her), aka CJ, aka Chimene, aka Amanda , is currently studying Media and Cultural Studies in Düsseldorf and is a DJ,
organiser ,1/3 of Confused and part of the YAYA network from Wuppertal.
Ayawa found her way to DJing through the YAYA parties that sweetened many people’s lives before Corona and her love of 2000 R’n’B, female rap and Afro house. Through her DJ support for the artist Kaleo Sansaa and her DJ sets for the Schwarze Haus Düsseldorf, she is not only to be found in Wuppertal. Ayawas sets are filled with sweet 2000 Rn`B love, bad bitch vibes and booty shakes that make hearts beat faster in the club.

neeyuu
Since his teenage years, neeyuu has been involved with music and music history. Especially club and subcultures from techno, juke or jungle to reggaeton, (hyper-)pop or experimental captivated him early on. Loud, flashy and always danceable sounds have always dominated his sets. These include fast, sometimes chaotic breakbeats, bass-heavy driving kicks and cheesy vocal samples from pop songs. In his sets, neeyuu references the origins of club culture in Detroit, Chicago and the UK and blurs conventional boundaries of genres.

Gretchen
Gretchen’s sets tell of experimental industrial desires and storm unabashedly through electronic back doors. They are wrested
pain thresholds - their dramaturgy shattered by dark bass escapades. When treading noisy deconstructed precipices, what was worth clinging to breaks away.

EXHIBITION with Janosch Raudner, Anna Timtchenko, Aylin Forneberg, Lena Wollnitza & Aura

The location is accessible for people with walking difficulties. A low barrier toilet is available.
